Depeche Mode favourite to headline Glasto 2015

Prince, Dolly Parton and Fleetwood Mac also in the running as bookies odds are revealed

Depeche Mode have been named as the bookie's favourite to headline Glastonbury in 2015.

Glastonbury 2014 is only just over and speculation appears to already be rife as to who will headline next year. Michael Eavis has a few acts that he has been trying to get to Worthy Farm for years, including Fleetwood Mac, Prince and Led Zeppelin. Meaning that as far as possibilities go there are many.

Paddy Power have now released their odds however, placing Depeche Mode at the top with odds of 3/1. Just behind are Prince with 7/2 and Dolly Parton, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles and Oasis with 5/1.

Elbow have been given 6/1 odds, while Bob Dylan and Foo Fighters have chances of 8/1. Rihanna and Radiohead meanwhile are at 12/1 and Lady Gaga is at 20/1. Also ex-Glastonbury regular Rolf Harris, (who is currently on trial) stands at 100/1. Okay then...

There are also 7/2 odds that there will be no rain at Glastonbury in 2015 and 8/1 odds that the festival will come to a permanent end by 2020.

Metallica: Let's face it, James Hetfield and his motley crew really did show the critics what for, putting on a performance that was described by fans as "fucking awesome". They even mocked bear hunting critics with an opening video and sold their own "Metallica are shite" t-shirts. Also it was an undeniable win for heavier music.
Dolly Parton: Modestly drawing a huge crowd of 100,000, the country legend put on a show that everyone who attended has been raving about, saying that she should have headlined. Also who cares if she was miming, she's earned it people.
Royal Blood: This year will belong to the duo who are undeniably bringing the heavy back. If you need concrete proof, the fact that they rammed out the John Peel tent to the point half of the crowd were watching from outside should be enough.
Jack White: The man himself played a brilliantly curated set, he didn't force new album Lazaretto down the crowd's throat, but instead played a greatest hits show that ranged from 'Icky Thump' all the way to 'Seven Nation Army'. He was awesome and solidified his position as a hugely important figure in the history of modern rock.
Haim's bass faces: The girls were absolutely amazing over the weekend, but more amazing was the gurning. Just awesome...
