Just two weeks after the revamped Camden Crawl festival relaunched as CC14, the London event is reported to have gone into voluntary liquidation - with the artists and performers left unpaid.
Organisers have since issued a statement. Read it here
The North London bash returned last month a more ecclectic line-up than usual, featuring the likes of Au Revoir Simone, Atari Teenage Riot, Of Montreal, D/R/U/G/S and even ABC for some reason.
Now, Fact report that emails sent to organisers have been met with the automatic response that they're experiencing 'financial difficulty', adding: “it is with great regret that the Board has decided that there is no option but to place the Company into Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation.”
Several artists then tweeted that they had not yet been paid by CC14. They aren't happy, with Johnny Foreigner referring to them as 'POINTY SHOED SCAMMY BASTARDS' and D/R/U/G/S threatening for them to enter a 'voluntary hospital:
So Camden Crawl? Did you really just go into voluntary liquidation without paying us or anyone else?

Find me a musician who enjoys playing multi-venue city festivals and you'll have found me a maniac. 'At least you get paid!' you say... hmm

#CamdenCrawl gone under without paying 2 Invada bands. They point blank refused to pay advance deposits & used the #TrustUs mantra throghout

To all asking us about #CamdenCrawl we have nothing further to add to our statement, only speak for 2 bands signed to us who havent been paid

If I was a hitman hired to snuff Mr Camden Crawl, I'd announce the time of his execution then move it forward without telling anyone.

Or, I'd give him a ticket to escape and on the back in really small print it would say ESCAPE NOT VALID IN THIS VENUE.

@FACTmag @thecamdencrawl they'll be going to a voluntary hospital if I don't get my money

Still, everyone seemed to have a pretty good time at CC14. Read our review of the event here.
