Following the news from Liam Gallagher himself, music fans have given a largely mixed reaction to the news that Beady Eye have split up - with some more devastated than others, while many are hoping for an Oasis reunion. 

The news came today when frontman Liam Gallagher tweeted:

Naturally, many dedicated Beady Eye fans took to Twitter to mourn their loss:

However, vast swathes of people who were less than fans of Liam and co took online to rejoice:

Meanwhile, others are now left hoping for an Oasis reunion:

Formed by Liam from the ashes of Oasis along with bandmates Gem Archer and Andy Bell, the band released two albums together to mixed reviews from fans and critics. Their last, BE, was released in 2013 to a largely lukewarm response. Brother Noel Gallagher however, is gearing up for a massive arena tour and release of second solo album, Chasing Yesterday.
