Nick Grimshaw has discussed going to see Kate Bush and Grace Jones, saying that they blew his mind.
Speaking at last nights Mercury Prize, the Radio 1 host talked Gigwise through his favourite shows of the year. Choosing Kate Bush and Grace Jones, he said that the pair were "ruining it" for other shows as they were simply too good.
"I think the gig that really impressed me was Kate Bush. Which just blew my mind. I'm a big Kate Bush fan and I know the hits of Kate Bush, the albums that are recognisable, but this was all b-sides and stuff I'd never heard before and sometimes I find that tough to engage with for a long period."
"I like to hear new stuff, but I like it peppered with hits. But it was 3 hours of new stuff with 3 songs you recognised, I think it was probably the best gig I've ever been to."
"Last night I was lucky to go see Grace Jones and that again was just next level, a sort of once in a lifetime performance."
"You can't really compare them with anyone else. It's kind of ruining it for other gigs. Because once you've seen Kate Bush and Grace Jones, it's going to be tough next time I go see Miley Cyrus."
