Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro will see in the New Year with a much needed break from touring
Bassist James Johnston told NME that 2015 will be a quiet year for the band, however a couple of special gigs may be in the pipeline.
He said: "I think we'll have a quiet one… We don't like to be in people's faces too much. The last thing we want is for people to get bored of us, so you could almost call it a year off."
The trio will spend next summer focusing on the new LP and follow-up to 2013's double album Opposites, which scooped the bands first number 1 album.
They plan to desert their humble Scottish roots for a while to record somewhere exotic.
"We always like to get away from Scotland to record – we try and go somewhere different from here, with sunshine and a bit a of warmth. We'll see what happens," Johnston added.
A number of tracks will be demoed in January and the new LP will be released late next year. Frontman Simon Neil is expected to focus on his new solo project ZZC throughout 2015.
Biffy Clyro are playing a set of shows at Barrowland, Glasgow this month.
