Brandon Flowers has confirmed the title and release date of his upcoming solo album - with The Desired Effect scheduled to drop on 18 May.
The Killers' frontman released his debut solo effort, Flamingo, back in 2010. He revealed last year that the band would be taking a break so he could focus on its follow-up, but now he's taken to Twitter and his official website to announce his next effort.
He wrote: "May 18th, 2015, we will finally achieve The Desired Effect. Ariel [Rechtshaid, producer] and I have been collaborating in the studio, working twogether [sic] in the spirit of conversation, contention, and at long last, sweet contrition.
"No one has yet seen or heard the change. But soon we all will."

Speaking to NME last year, Flowers said that the album would be 'completely different' to Flamingo.
"Even though I'm still young, you can start to get set in your ways," he said. "Change is good and there's always growth, I'm always looking for that. "It's nice to steer the ship and that's what you'd think I’d do on my own album, but I'm letting Ariel take over every now and then. That's led to some really exciting things and sounds I would never have used. As I've gotten older I'm much more open to that – I'm much more open to peoples' strengths and really trying to utilise them – and that's where Ariel comes into the picture.
"He's really knowledgeable about every genre; it's pretty incredible what he's able to reference and pull out. It's definitely going to be different, but I'm still in the thick of it, hammering away."
While The Killers are said to be on hiatus, they were recently confirmed to headline Firefly Festival in the US with Kings Of Leon and Morrissey.
