That Kanye petition now has over 100,000 signatures...

Some still bitter over Yeezy headlining Glasto

In case you missed it, a petition was created on Change.org after Kanye was announced to headline Glastonbury. The petition is an attempt to 'cancel Kanye West's headline slot and get a rock band'.

The petition has now passed the 100,000 mark and at the time of writing has 121,791 signatures. The campaign reads: "The original petition read: "Kanye West is an insult to music fans all over the world. We spend hundreds of pounds to attend glasto, and by doing so, expect a certain level of entertainment. Kanye has been very outspoken on his views on music....he should listen to his own advice and pass his headline slot on to someone deserving! Lets prevent this musical injustice now!"

Speaking to Gigwise about the petition, the creator spoke of accusations of racism, saying: "Total nonsense. I won’t justify them with a response, but I'm pretty outspoken on my views about prejudices of all types. It doesn't matter if you're black, white, straight, gay, et al. If you behave like Kanye, you gotta expect some opposition. I'm only one guy... My petition started as a joke, and I never thought it would make a difference. I stand by that now. I don't think it would make a difference if 200,000 people signed it... Anyway, Kanye's a big boy, I'm sure he can take a bit of banter."

We here at Gigwise definitely don't share the opinion of those supporting the petition, especially after catching Kanye's surprise gig at Koko. Take a look at our review here.
