Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has spoken out about his split from actress and ex-partner Kate Hudson has influenced the band's upcoming album, Drones.
The pair began a relationship in 2010, before having son Bingham Hawn Bellamy in July 2011. They were engaged, but confirmed their separation in December of last year. Speaking to People Magazine in December, a representative for the actress stated: "Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now. Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents."
Now, speaking to Q Magazine, Bellamy revealed that the lead single 'Dead Inside' was inspired by "a relationship ending and a person becoming dead inside themselves".
Bellamy concluded: "I went very internal, very into my paranoias, weird feelings and life experiences. It’s quite personal. There isn't a lot of love on this album."
Meanwhile, Muse have also shared the below images and footage from filming the video to 'Dead Inside:

The frontman had already revealed the heavy concept around the rest of Drones - adding that it would indeed feature the sequel to Origin Of Symmetry favourite, 'Citizen Erased'.
"The first song is about a person that loses hope and kind of becomes vulnerable to the darker forces and drawn into military brainwashing, and then on songs after that, just sort of battling the dark forces that are trying to control our minds and everything," Bellamy told Annie Mac on BBC Radio One. "Then eventually you get to songs like 'Revolt' and 'Defector' where the person fights back and really takes control of themselves, then 'Aftermath' is a kind of rekindling with love type of situation, then 'The Globalist' is just like a crazy, ten minute prog nightmare - which is about the rise and fall of a dictator."
"A lot of fans keep tweeting, asking what song is the sequel to 'Citizen Erased' - it's a song called 'The Globalist' which is basically a narrative within itself about the rise and fall of a dictator, the end of the world, World War Three and all the good stuff I like," he laughed.
