More about: Justin Bieber
A warrant for the arrest of Justin Bieber has been issued in Argentina.
A judge issued the warrant yesterday (April 10) after stating that the star did not respond to summons related to an incident which allegedly occurred in 2013, during which Bieber reportedly assaulted a photographer.
The Hollywood Reporter writes that Judge Alberto Julio Banos is not just asking for the ‘immediate detention’ of Bieber, but also his bodyguards too, due to the accusation that Bieber sent his bodyguards to attack Diego Pesoa at a nightclub in Buenos Aires in November of 2013.
According to this same report, the singer could face between one month to six years in prison if he is convicted. It is not made clear whether or not the warrants extend beyond Argentina. Pesoa’s lawyer spoke to a local station Telefe Noticias and his comments seemed to imply that the warrant would force Bieber to return to Argentina: “Now we just need to wait for the police to find him and bring him to Argentina. For us, this is a triumph against all those who said this case was a bluff and that we didn’t have anything.”
