2015, even by the high standards of the past few years, has been an impressive and eclectic year for music documentaries - and we're only half way through.
This week's release of Asif Kapadia's acclaimed Amy Winehouse documentary is just the tip of the iceberg. If you're a fan of Manic Street Preachers, Nirvana, Nina Simone or Daft Punk, you'll surely already have seen / be excited about seeing some of this year's music documentaries.
What makes these films special, though, is that even if you've never heard of any of those artists in your life (although if that is the case, what you're doing on a music website is anyone's guess) you'll still find their psychological, philosophical, criminal and historical explorations worth your while.
