U2's Bono Hitchhikes Lift With Canadian Ice Hockey Star - U2 frontman Bono hitchhiked a lift with a Canadian ice hockey star after he got caught in a rain shower. The singer and his assistant were out walking when they got caught in a torrential downpour in Vancouver on Tuesday (June 1). Edmonter Oilers player Gilbert Brule and his girlfriend happened to be driving past when they saw Bono signaling for a lift. Kelsey Nichols told CTV she didn’t believe Brule when he said it was Bono, but eventually devided to turn around and pick up the pair.
