Kasbian guitarist and songwriter Serge Pizzorno says that the Stone Roses reunion shows will inspire a whole new generation of songwriters.
Talking to NME about the Stone Roses Heaton Park shows this weekend, Pizzorno said: "Ian [Brown] is one of the most charismatic frontmen of all time. He's a proper star in the Bowie or Marc Bolan sense, where they can go into a room and stop time, and the rest of the band are incredible musicians.
"Going to see that as a kid is going to be massively inspiring. You're gonna want to go back to your bedroom and write a song."
Stone Roses will be supported by Primal Scream, The Vaccines, Kid British and The Wailers at this weekend's show. Vaccines frontman Justin Young also spoke to NME about his slot, saying: “[The Stone Roses are] so important in dance music, so important in mainstream indie music.
“But then they've still got young fans - I mean, I like The Stone Roses. They'll be as important now as they were then.”
Serge Pizzorno recently also spoke about how he feels the band are misunderstood by the media.
