Muse have revealed the official video for their Olympics theme tune survival. Watch it below.
The video features an awful lot of Olympics and not a lot of Muse, as it is entirely made up of classic clips from the Olympic games - showing the blood, sweat, tears, pain and glory of the games history.
Muse premiered the track on 28 June 2012. Matt Bellamy recently revealed the track was originally conceived as a collaboration with an unnamed pianist.
"I got approached about a year ago to write this song for the Olympics and we were going to work on it with someone, I can't say who, a good pianist though," he said in a recent interview with the BBC. "So I wrote this song with that in mind, that's why it's got a lot of guitar and piano at the same time, which normally I don't do. That went away for some reason though.
"It sounded like it was going to be a good song anyway, at that time it didn't have lyrics, it was just a big musical idea, involving a choir and stuff.
"So as time went on and we got asked to play the opening ceremony, we thought 'We've got to play this'. We got the Olympic people in to listen and they loved it."
Gigwise readers recently named Muse fans the most dedicated in music, topping a poll ahead of the likes of Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Justin Bieber and One Direction.
