Rihanna's chart topping hit 'Umbrella' has never seemed more apt than during her performance last night (8 July, 2012) at Wireless Festival in London.
Rihanna took to the stage last night in Hyde Park to close this year's Wireless Festival, as attendees braved torrential rain at the London event. Rumours were rife that Rihanna was set to pull out of her headline slot, but put in a spectacular appearance on the final day of the London event. However, it was the mud in Hyde Park that was the standout feature of the festival, with conditions underfoot becoming marsh-like as heavy rain fell across London.
"The mud was so, so bad," said one attendee following the festival. "The rain here has been insane. Lets say that 'Umbrella' was particularly apt today."
Rihanna's Hyde Park performance this weekend marks her second headline slot at a London festival in the past month, having performed at Hackney weekend at the end of June.
There were previous fears that she may pull out of the event following the death of her grandmother last week.
