Fireworks, dancers and the Royal family
27 July, 2012: Last night, millions of grumbling Londoners were silenced when the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games brought the city together in a celebration of sports, music - and a million fireworks.
Artists performing at the ceremony included Emeli Sande, Dizzee Rascal, Mike Oldfield and Paul McCartney - plus special guests Artic Monkeys, who performed 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' and Beatles' classic 'Come Together'.
Plus of course, the Queen of England sky-dived into the stadium.
Also in attendance were Prince Charles and wife Camilla, plus Prince Willam, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry.
