Pink Floyd and Ed Sheeran: Sheeran has revealed he is teaming up with Pink Floyd at the Olympics closing ceremony (and not, as previously expected, The Who). The ginger-haired singer and psychedelic rock band seem an odd combination, but if it''s anything like the opening ceremony then we won''t be disappointed.
Queen and Adam Lambert: Of course, the classic rock band and modern star pairing can''t get any better than Queen and Adam Lambert. The team have been wowing audiences around the globe with their latest tour, and Lambert brings a new sparkle to the songs. Not bad at all.
Lou Reed and The Killers: Who could forget 2007''s duet between The Killers and Lou Reed? Scooping up a USA NME Award, ''Tranquilize'' was a behemoth of a song and a perfect example of a collaboration done properly. From the disjointed melody to the sense of menace, ''Tranquilize'' remained darkly hypnotic and both parties were - quite rightly - proud.
Liza Minelli and My Chemical Romance: It was weirdly wonderful when Liza Minnelli agreed to appear on ''Mama'', taken from My Chemical Romance''s ''The Black Parade'' album. Both MCR and Minnelli are known for a love of the theatrical and ''Mama'' is a no-holds barred show-stopper. Definitely more ridiculous than sublime, but we love it anyway.
Cher and Lady Gaga: It''s happening. The duet between them is due to be called ''The Greatest Thing'' and cannot come soon enough. It''s either going to be amazing or a total mess, but it''ll definitely be nothing that we''ve ever heard before. Excited? We can''t wait.
Iggy Pop and Ke$ha: And now we''re in the realm of ''people we wish would put some clothes on.'' Even Ke$ha couldn''t entice Iggy to wear a shirt when they teamed up for a song to be on her new album. The ''Lust For Life'' singer and trashy glitter queen have been recording together, and it''s anyone''s guess what they''ll come up with.
Nile Rogers and Daft Punk: Nile Rodgers revealed early in 2012 that he was working on a Daft Punk album and we''re still waiting. Still, he threw us a bone in the form of an interview with Mixmag backstage at Bestival, saying: "It''s going to be so cutting edge that people aren''t going to expect what they''re doing" before adding, "it''s as great as the best stuff I''ve ever done with Duran or Madonna." Sounds like it might just be worth the wait.
Brian May and Dappy: And now for a more disappointing duo. Dappy and Brian May got together to collaborate on a track called ''Rockstar.'' Oh, Brian, we thought better of you than that! Apparently the Queen rocker told Dappy that he was "very different and unique." Can''t argue with that, we suppose.
Tony Bennett and Amy Winehouse: Legendary jazz singer Tony Bennett hooked up with troubled Amy Winehouse last year for a shiver-inducing cover of ''Body and Soul.'' Bennett was one of Winehouse''s heroes, and the two recorded the duet at Abbey Road studios just four months before she died. With that in mind, the song has even more impact.
Snoop Lion and Cher Lloyd: And finally, Snoop Lion (formerly Snoop Dogg) lost all credibility when he lent his talents to a track on X-Factor runner-up Cher Lloyd''s US hit single ''Want U Back''. Apparently, her next aim is to get Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj both on a song with her. Let''s hope this doesn''t happen.
