Mitch Winehouse is praying for Amy Winehouse's ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, and urging her fans to do the same, after Civil suffered multiple organ failure after a drinking binge.
Winehouse took to Twitter to express his sadness at the news, urging fans to remember how important Fielder-Civil had been to his superstar daughter.
He tweeted: "Terrible news about Blake this morning. Remember Amy loved him. Let's pray for his recovery. Mitch."
Despite Fielder-Civil being widely accredited with introducing Amy to hard drugs, Mitch Winehouse has previously offered an olive branch.
"I've made my feelings absolutely clear about Blake over the years," Winehouse said in an interview with The Sun newspaper in July. "He's got a lot to answer for. The thing is, whether I like it or not, Amy loved him at one point in her life.
"He has been in jail up north, but if he sorts his life out I wouldn't rule out the chance of him doing something with the education we have planned in the future. It's a long way off, but if he can turn it round, anyone can."
Civil was discovered by girlfriend Sarah Aspin on Friday night after a drinking session the previous day. Civil, who is a recovering drug addict, is thought to have taken an illegal substance during the binge. He is currently in a coma in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
