August 14th 2012. Refused continued their limited run of UK shows with a performance at Manchester's Academy last night, showing their support for Pussy Riot along the way.
The Swedish hardcore band wrote 'Free Pussy Riot' on their drum skin as they brought their righteous noise to the North West.
Pussy Riot are, of course, the Russian punk band locked up and facing trial after staging a protest against President Vladimir Putin earlier this year. Musicians have ralled around the trio with the likes of Madonna, Bjork and Jarvis Cocker all calling for their release.
Performing songs from their classic album 'The Shape Of Punk To Come', Refused slayed the Manchester gig, having done similar in London earlier in the week.
