Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day has been discharged from hospital in Italy after illness forced him to cancel a gig on the weekend.
The punk star was due to perform a show in Italy on Sunday night, but was forced to cancel the show after rumoured stomach problems. No official statement has been released, but local reports have claimed the rocker was suffering 'gastric problems'.
Armstrong was admitted to the Hospital Maggiore in Bolognia. Italian fans of the band caused chaos in the hospital as they attempted to visit the star as he recovered. Bandmates Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool published a video apology, telling fans they would be 'back as soon as they can'.
Green Day were the surprise guests at this year's Reading Festival, performing their classic album Dookie in full at the event.
