A Bible once owned by Elvis Presley has sold for £59,000 ($94,000) at auction in Stockport.
The book was a Christmas present given to Elvis by his Uncle Vester and Aunt Clettes in Graceland in 1957.
The book features annotations inscribed on a few of the 1,600 pages by the singer, and it one of hundreds of Elvis memorabilia up for sale at the auction.
However, the pair of Elvis' unwashed pants that were up for auction at Omega Auctions failed to attract bids high enough to match the reserve price.
The reserve for the pants was set at £7,000 but the highest bid on the item was only £5,000.
The memorabilia was being sold by a British Elivs collector, who is selling off a quarter of his collection.
Karen Fairweather, from the auctioneers, told the BBC "It was a really exciting atmosphere in the room, we had 300 people and there was bidding online and on the telephone across the world.
"You could hear a pin drop when it sold for that price.
"There were three rival bidders on the phone and once it got over £20,000 each bid was taking a while, because they each had a price in mind for the Bible and they were thinking about it," she contined.
"There was a round of applause when the hammer went down. It was incredible."
The winning bidder was an American man based in the UK.
Last month the wife and daughter of the Elvis, Priscilla and Lisa-Marie, shocked fans of the rock and roll icon when the pair attended a vigil for the star to commemorate the 35th anniversary of his death.
It was also recently reported that X-Factor may be planning hologram appearances of Elvis and Amy Winehouse during the current series of the TV talent show.
