- Guns N Roses star Axl Rose took some time out from being one of rock music''s most unreliable stars and did something good when he made a visit to the Teenage Cancer Trust Ward at the University College Hospital in London in 2006. "Axl spent time speaking with each of the patients individually asking about their diagnosis and treatment, and what they enjoyed doing when they were not in hospital," said the CEO of the ward.

Lives of the rich and famous are packed full of sex, drugs, rock n' roll and... charity work?
Every now and then, you hear something amazing that restores your faith in human nature, something unexpected, a kind, selfless gesture from one person to another. Even less often, that news is about a rock and roll legend.
Take Slipknot's frontman Corey Taylor, who has been known to enjoy playing around with the remains of a dead crow on stage with the infamous shock-rockers. But when he's not doing that, he can also be found playing charity gigs in Africa, we kid you not.
Meanwhile, outspoken indie icon Liam Gallagher also has a bit of a soft side. Behind closed doors this softie is a noted dog lover and Liam has invested a lot of time and money into helping an array of animal charities. It's enough to melt even the hardest heart.
