Glasvegas have refused to admit their second album, 'Euphoric Heartbreak' was a flop - despite less than spectacular sales and success.
The album, which was released in April 2011, struggled commercially.
Frontman James Allan told NME that he felt listeners needed 'more time to get to know' the record.
Despite some positive reviews from critics, the LP's lack of sales lead to Columbia dropping the Glasgow indie-band just four months after its release.
Allan said: "It's hard for any artist to really understand why someone would have a connection to their passion.
"There are records I didn't like at first but grew to love over time – 'Euphoric…' may be one of those for other people. They've just got to get to know it better."

The band also hit the headlines after being bottled off stage after four songs at last year's V Festival.
But, undeterred, the four-piece have put their 'nightmare year' behind them, and announced we can expect their independently released follow-up next year.
The forthcoming album is entitled 'Whoever Shouts the Loudest', and was self-produced by Allan at his Glasgow home.
The singer also revealed the titles of a number of the album's tracks.
Allan added: "It'll be called 'Whoever Shouts The Loudest'. The track titles include I'd Rather Be Dead Than Be With You', 'All I Want Is My Baby', 'Later… When The TV Turns To Static' and 'If'.
Allan would not, however, be drawn on how the album will sound.
Adding, "But sorry, I can't tell you what they're like yet."
The band have also confirmed they will make their live comeback at the end of the year with a string of seven dates in England and Scotland.
