UK stars have spoken out in anger at the BBC's decision to axe Danny Baker's BBC London radio show, the Treehouse.
The radio and TV personality revealed the cancellation on his personal Twitter account earlier today (1 November, 2012), telling followers that his sacking was a cost-cutting measure by the BBC.
"So. Just been told the BBC London Show - the Treehouse - is to be shut down after all. Save the BBC money apparently," he tweeted.
He also hit back at the broadcasting company for the cut - just a week before his induction into the Radio Hall of Fame.
"Also. I am being "inducted" into The Radio Hall Of Fame next week. Big honour. BBC salutes by cutting five sixths of my shows. #ironynotlost"

Now, stars including Stephen Fry, Rob Brydon, Gary Lineker, Stephen Mangan and many more stars have spoken out in their shock at the axing.
Stephen Fry hit out at the BBC, tweeting: "Next week @prodnose is inducted into Radio Academy Hall of fame. Not surprising, he's the best. Today the BBC are axing his show. Dickwits."
Comedian and actor Rob Brydon added: "Glad that BBC are axing @prodnose Danny Baker's daily radio show. I've had it up to here with his wit, warmth and originality."
Former footballer and broadcaster Gary Lineker tweeted: "Flabbergasted to see @prodnose 's BBCRadio show has been axed. Great broadcaster, great show!"
6Music host Lauren Laverne saw an opportunity in the axing however, suggesting that Baker was given a new slot on the station.
"Can I be the first to request @prodnose for @BBC6Musi now please? If he joined us, I really think we could rule earth," tweeted the radio host.
