2 December, 2012: Elbow performed at London's O2 last night and it might be the last time for fans to see the band perform in the capital for quite some time.

In October of this year, the band revealed that their current string of shows would be a 'farewell' from the band as they take a hiatus from music for band members to pursue their own solo projects. They are hoping to reunite in mid 2013 to finish work on their next album, which they have apparently already begun work on.

"It will be like a farewell party. We've already done six songs for the next album, then we'll come back to finish it next year," Garvey told The Sun newspaper, before revealing his own plans for his time away from his Elbow bandmates.

"As soon as the tour ends I'm off to New York for six months," he added. "Where better to write songs for a King Kong musical than the place it's set?"
