The Kaiser Chiefs' future is uncertain after it was announced that the band's songwriter and drummer Nick Hodgson had quit the band after 15 years.
Hodgson made the announcement on Twitter, saying: "After 15 years with the band and having achieved such amazing things thanks to the support and loyalty of our fans, I have decided to leave and turn my attention to other areas within the world of music and to pursue new challenges.
"It has not been an easy decision and one that the boys and I have discussed throughout this year. The band have been incredibly supportive of my decision. I wish them all continued success."
2012 has been a busy old year for band break ups, splits and losing members, with a number of bands calling time on their caree while others were forced to deal with the loss of core members from their line-up.
