The 2012 Google Zeitgeist results have revealed some surprising trends about what people have googled the most.
Zeitgeist, which tracks the fastest growing search terms has revealed that, unsurprisingly, PSY's 'Gangham Style' tops the list of trending songs. Less predictably however, X Factor's Lucy Spraggan, who quit the series after only 3 shows, reigns the top of the trending music artists' list.
Despite announcing their reunion this year, Girls Aloud only pulled 9th place in the most searched for artists, being beaten by the likes of The Military Wives and Muse. James Bond's eponymous theme song 'Skyfall' was less searched for than 'The official Olympic song'. Take That star and X Factor judge Gary Barlow also features in the top trending searches, as does Whitney Houston, who passed away early this year.
