Seventies stars set for reunion tour in 2013
19 December, 2012: Status Quo rounded off their 2012 with a show at London's O2 Arena last night, titled Quofestive. OK, so as Christmas puns go it's not the best, but the iconic rockers proved they still have what it takes to thrill a live audience. Check out photos of the show here.
The gig took place ahead of the band's 2013 reunion tour. Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan are all set to slip back into their stonewashed denim and head out across the UK next year - the first time the band have played together in 30 years. Lancaster and Coghlan quit the band in the early eighties while Rossi and Parfitt carried on the band's name.
The band's manager has spoken of his excitement at the dates, saying fans have been waiting for years for the four to get back together.
"People have wanted this announcement to be made for years, and here it is," says Simon Porter, reports Sky News. "This is a real moment in the chequered history of Status Quo and it comes after almost 30 years of acrimony, and 10 years of lawsuits and court battles.
"Just two years ago the thought of the Frantic Four performing again was unthinkable.
"Now, 50 years on from when Francis and Alan first performed together as schoolboys, it is fitting that everything has come full circle for these unique one-off shows."
