'Where Are We Now?' ineligible for No.1

Will.i.am and Britney Spears' 'Scream And Shout' duet is set to hit No.1 this week - as David Bowie's comeback single has been declared ineligible for the UK charts.
According to the Official Charts Company, 'Scream And Shout' is currently 5,000 copies ahead of James Arthur's X Factor winner's single, 'Impossible'. At this point last week, Arthur was 6,000 copies ahead with his single.
If Britney gets the number one, it will be her first number one single since 2004, with her hit 'Everytime' - and Will.i.am's second solo number one, not counting his releases with the Black Eyed Peas.
James Arthur is currently at number two, followed by Taylor Swift hit 'I Knew You Were Trouble' at three. The top five is rounded off by Rihanna's 'Stay', which features Mikky Ekko, and Bruno Mars' 'Locked Out Of Heaven'.
Sadly, despite currently being number one on the iTunes sales chart, David Bowie's latest single 'Where Are We Now?' is ineligible for the Top 40.
It has been excluded from the Official Chart Company's figures as it was released as part of a pre-order strategy.
'Impossible' is likely to finally be removed from the number one spot
"Owing to chart rules which are agreed in partnership with UK record companies and retailers, data relating to the David Bowie single 'Where Are We Now' cannot currently be counted towards the official singles charts, as the release is linked to an album pre-order promotion and it is not possible to distinguish album sales from track sales from the retail data received," said a spokesperson for the Official Charts Company.
"Should it become possible in the future for regular track sales to be distinguished from album pre-order incentive purchases, then these sales can be counted towards the chart."
