Muse and Mumford & Sons also performing at the February ceremony

The nominations for this year's BRIT Awards were revealed yesterday at an event in London, with Mumford & Sons, Alt-J, and Muse among the big names picking up nods for the 2013 event.
Mumford & Sons cap a hugely successful year with nominations for Live Act, British Band and British Album for Babel, the fastest selling album of the past year. Newcomers Alt-J also pick up three nominations for British Group, British Breakthrough and British Album for their Mercury Music Prize winning album, An Awesome Wave. Muse are nominated for Best British Group and Best Live Act.
Emeli Sande, who last year won the Critics Choice Award is the big name of the awards, picking up a total of four nominations. Sande is nominated for British Female Artist, British Album and picks up two nominations for British Single - one for her solo track 'Next To Me' and one for her Labrinth duet, 'Beneath Your Beautiful'.

Artists confirmed to perform on the night of the event are Robbie Williams, Emeli Sande, Mumford & Sons, Muse, Ben Howard and One Direction. The show takes place on 20 February and will broadcast live on ITV1.
