Adam Lambert and 19 Recordings have parted ways after an amicable split that will see the singer 'take the next step' in his music career.
The American Idol series eight runner-up had unofficially split from 19 Management last summer, but remained signed to the 19 Entertainment recording arm of the label.
According to sources, Lambert's 19 Entertainment contract has now expired, but he is still on the roster for RCA Records.
A source said: "It’s good for both sides. Adam can move forward with his plans and 19 isn't stuck in the middle."
A spokesperson for Lambert said: "The two parties leave amicably and with the utmost respect for each other,” adding that the decision is part of the singer’s “evolution”.
Adam Lambert is planning his third studio album
Lambert has seen huge international success since finishing American Idol in 2009, making appearances at the Asian Music Awards, The Voice China and has plans to tour Japan, South East Asia and Europe in 2013.
The pop star is said to already be in conversations with his new label, Direct Management Group about a third album.
