Simon Cowell has announced his involvement with an upcoming stage show based on The X Factor, which is currently in the audition process.
Cowell will help find talent based for a stage show based on the TV show in which he searches for new talent, which is being created by TV funnyman, Harry Hill. The show is set to open in 2014 and Cowell has confirmed his involvement with the show.
We're going to see a workshop on the musical in a couple of weeks' time," said Simon Cowell at the Britain's Got Talent London auditions. "What I'm hearing is that it's very funny and very good.
"That workshop will be the time we decide whether we are in or out. We have to wait and see whether it's going to work.
"But the buzz from the people who know about these things is that it's very good."
Cowell is always on the hunt for new talent, wherever it may be
Cowell is said to have firm belief in the ongoing success of TV talent shows, despite poor ratings for the 2012 series of The X Factor in the UK.
Simon said to BBC Newsbeat, "For bad shows it's dead, definitely. You've seen with something like the Olympics, when you put something good on, people watch it."
He also spoke about the low viewers of The X Factor, saying, "You've just got to try and make a better show than you did the year before. And if you do that there's a chance you can get the numbers up.
"I never go into anything thinking the numbers are going to go down, because the first thing I say to our production team is you've got to make a better show than last year."
