When she posted the Great Gatsby logo on her Facebook recently, Lana Del Rey strengthened speculation that she was working on the soundtrack for the film.
Many of us hope this is the case, with Del Rey's noir-ish style being perfect for the 1920s setting of the film.
But this is far from the first time a big name musician has made the transition to the film world.
There have been great soundtracks and scores composed by some of the biggest names in music, including Bob Dylan, Curtis Mayfield and Elvis Presley, and at times the soundtracks have outdone the movies themselves.
