US comic Joan Rivers is known for her vicious sense of humour, but has she gone too far with her recent comments about Adele? The comedy icon has criticised the UK star for her weight and eating habits after her appearance at the Oscars.
Rivers was being interviewed by US TV host David Letterman on his show, when Rivers lashed out at Adele - sparking a chorus of boos from the shocked audience at her comments.
"What is her song? Rolling In The Deep? She should add Fried Chicken," said Rivers, before mocking Adele's pre-performance nerves and claims that she was unable to swallow before her Oscars performance.
Rivers had previously tweeted that Adele's Oscar statue was overweight, writing on the night of the awards: "On Sunday night, you could easily pick Adele's Oscar statuette out of a lineup. It was the only one wearing Spanx."

Adele has been the target of weight jokes before, with fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld previously saying she was 'a little too fat'.
In a 2012 interview with The Metro, Lagerfeld replied: "She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice."
