The mash-up of Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe' and Nine Inch Nails' 'Head Like A Hole' took the Internet by storm last week, but Chris Vrenna isn't happy about the viral hit.
User pomDeter combined the instrumentals of 'Call Me Maybe' with the vocals of 'Head Like A Hole', and posted the results on Soundcloud where it currently has 1,210,218 plays - and counting.
However, Nine Inch Nails' 1989 touring drummer Chris Vrenna has spoken out about his distaste for the song. Talking to TMZ, Vrenna said, "Honestly I find the whole thing silly and partly offensive... I find it kind of insulting.
"It has trivialised something we've done. I am proud of what we've done and to take art - just to be a joke - I don't have any respect for it."
Vrenna is taking solace in the fact that soon everyone will have moved onto the next Internet sensation, though, adding, "In 48 hours no one will even know it existed."

Part of the reason that the two songs fit so well was that they were both originally mixed by Dave Oglivie.
Speaking to Sound on Sound last year, Ogilvie said, " I was trying to get the same feel in ‘Call Me Maybe’ as in a Nine Inch Nails song, making sure it had a pop sensibility, but with people not even noticing how aggressive the kick drum is."
