Photos: Skunk Anansie perform stunning show at Manchester Academy

22 March, 2013: When it comes to rock frontwomen, they don't get much more intense or impressive than Skin from Skunk Anansie, who, after 19 years on the scene, still cuts a spectacular presence at the band's live shows.

Back on the scene after the 2012 release of their Black Traffic album, the band recently performed at Manchester Academy. Check out photos of the gig right here.

When Gigwise caught up with Skunk Anansie last year, they revealed that the world was waiting for a new great rock album, with Skin telling us: "I do feel there are some analagies there in that scene."

"But personally I feel the world is missing a great big fat rock album. I think there are a lot of rock fans out there and rock guitar, when someone is playing the guitar there is a spiritual connection that you cannot get from a CD sample... And that's why I think rock music will never die."
