After a number of unflattering photos of Beyonce's Superbowl performance were widely shared online earlier in 2013, the US superstar has reportedly banned photographers from attending any of her world tour shows.

A representative for the 'Single Ladies' superstar took issue with a number of images from Beyonce's half-time show and attempted to have them removed from the internet, after she became the subject of a number of internet memes. Now it has been reported that professional photographers will not be permitted to shoot any of her current Mrs Carter world tour - and that any images released by photo agencies will have been purchased from fans.

"Beyoncé banned all professional photographers from her shows, hoping this way no unflattering photos will make it to mainstream media," writes photography journalist Noam Galai on website Fstoppers. "But we all know how media works – they will do anything possible to get images that other publications don’t have.

"If they cant send a photographer to give them original photos, the next best thing they can do is buy photos from fans in the front rows in the arena (cameras were not allowed, but no one can take away phones). It’s the next best thing for them, and a huge nightmare for Beyoncé and her publicist."

Beyonce's publicist took issue with a Buzzfeed post in February, following her Superbowl show, titled The 33 Fiercest Moments From Beyonce's Halftime Show. Each photo showed the singer pulling bizarre faces during her energetic performance.

Her publicist requested the images be removed from Buzzfeed, writing in an email: "There are some unflattering photos on your current feed that we are respectfully asking you to change. I am certain you will be able to find some better photos."
