French duo to score first ever No.1 single
Tags: Daft Punk
After missing out on the UK No.1 spot last week, Daft Punk are set to top the UK charts this week with their 2013 comeback track, 'Get Lucky'.
If the French duo hit No.1, they will score the first chart topper of their 20 year career - their previous biggest success being a No.2 single with 'One More Time' in 2000. The single entered the chart at No.3 last week after just 48 hours of being on sale.
Current chart toppers Rudimental feat. Ella Eyre enjoy a second week of strong sales, and are at No.2 on the midweek chart - but are said to be 28,000 sales behind the robotic duo. In a Top Three reshuffle, last week's No.2 single, '#thatPOWER' by Will.i.am and Justin Bieber slips to No.3.
Calvin Harris' Michael Jackson-beating chart success continues as his Ellie Goulding collaboration 'I Need Your Love' climbs to No.4 while Britain's Got Talent finalists, Loveable Rogues, enter at No.5 with their single, 'What A Night'.

Other new hits in chart come from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis with their new collaboration 'Can't Hold Us', which enters the midweek charts at No.12 and Passenger - who enters at No.24 with European chart topper 'Let Her Go'.
Elsewhere, Amelia Lily scores a third Top 40 hit with her single 'Party Over', Nicky Romero and Nervo enter at No.36 with 'Like Home' and Carly Rae Jepsen scores a new hit with 'Tonight I'm Getting Over You' at No.37.
