There's nothnig worse than seeing a once-great musical figure slip into a life of nonsense and commercial desperation, but it happens with upsetting regularity.
Since Oasis split in 2009, Liam Gallagher has made waves with Beady Eye, but the rock frontman is a one-man tsunami machine when it comes to spouting tabloid-friendly quotes - mostly thinly veiled barbs directed at brother Noel.
So how will Liam be remembered? As a frontman of one (maybe two) great rock bands - or an angry man with too many opinions to share? He certainly wouldn't be the first musician to throw away a legacy with poor life choices if it is the latter, that's for sure.
In some cases it's a matter of a musician continuing with a career in music long after they should've have let it go, in others it's a case of a musical icon embarking on embarrassing money making endeavors that become more memorable than their musical achievements.
Gigwise takes a look at some of the musical greats who've ruined their legacy and will be remembered for the silly decisions they made after having a great career.
