As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis was arrested recently after apparently trying to orchestrate a weird murder-for-hire plot in order to kill his estranged wife. Luckily, he tried to hire an undercover detective, and so the police found out about it in time - and arrested him.

Considering that As I Lay Dying are a Christian band, fans were pretty shocked. But this isn't the first time that a music star arrest has been more than a little surprising. While a certain amount of rock 'n' roll behaviour is to be expected, sometimes musicians can take it too far - or the charge can be surprisingly serious.

It takes all sorts, too. Arrests range from American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert in Helsinki, to blues star Willis Earl Beal, to the Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood. And of course, we can never forget Chris Brown.

Check out the 10 most shocking music star arrests right here.

  • Tim Lambesis: The As I Lay Dying vocalist was arrested recently on suspicion of trying to orchestrate a bizarre murder-for-hire plot involving his estranged wife. Obama!'" Ditto was arrested shortly after.

Us blackout=irrational confusion. jail guilt press=lesson learned."

After the incident, Beal cut his set short, saying, "Because of a few bad apples, we all miss out on one more glorious, fantastic, lovely performance. I love you, and I even love the guy whose face I kicked in. I love him, too. He's a good guy! He's just drunk, a little." Beal was later released without charge.
