For some The Great Escape is the true start of the festival season, as more than 350 bands and artists from all over the world descend onto Brighton’s sunny shores, as new music well and truly takes over.
The three-day event took place this weekend (17-19 May, 2013), and despite fears of rain ruining the event, the bad weather forecast never materialised, leaving music lovers to enjoy the music in the scenic setting.
The Great Escape saw big-name artists such as Klaxons and Bastille perform, while Australian rapper Iggy Azalea raised the roof with her spectacular show.
Also on the line-up were hotly tipped new artists such as Irish teens The Strypes, Scottish electro stars Chvrches and Birmingham band Swim Deep. Check out photos of all these, plus shots of Arcane Roots, a Billy Bragg Q&A, Mausi and many more below
