13 July, 2013: Some 30 years after their breakthrough into the mainstream, Depeche Mode are still headlining festivals and selling out tours - and with damn good reason.
Moving with the times at every single step of their career, Depeche Mode have adapted to the changing musical landscape with admirable precision, working the moving trends into their own sound to remain current, and never hopping on a bandwagon for the sake of relevancy
The eighties, nineties and noughties band headlined day two of Optimus 2013 this weekend, with new tracks from Delta Machine easily holding their own alongside the likes of classic pop hits including 'Enjoy The Silence' and 'Just Can't Get Enough'. Their balance of crowd pleasing tunes and forward thinking tracks making the band what they are today, and have always been.
