German electronica pioneers Kraftwerk played a brilliant set at Latitude festival this weekend, headlining the main stage on Saturday (20 July).
Kraftwerk have been touring the world this year showcasing what their '3D concerts'. The show began suitably with a performance of 'Robots', featuring animations and flashing text appearing on onstage screens which made up the '3D' portion of the show.
The band played a historic and career-spanning set that included classics 'Autobahn', two versions of 'Tour de France', 'Numbers' and ended with 'Technologique Non Stop'. The overal feel of the show was decidedly minimalistic and conceptual, and although not incredibly lively Kraftwerk's prescence and the atmosphere of the music carried across the crowd.
