25 August, 2013: Bring Me The Horizon caused chaos today at Leeds Festival, for security guards at least, when frontman Oli Sykes invited fans to climb the barriers and attempt to reach the stage and give him a high-five. Understandably, festival staff were less than impressed...
Fans poured over the barriers and rushed the stage, and although the burly chaps keeping things in order managed to prevent most fans reaching Sykes, a lucky few reached him and did indeed, get a high-five from the young emo prince. There was a much stronger security presence during the performance than seen at other band's sets - mostly because he did the same thing yesterday (24 August, 2013) at Reading Festival.
Sykes jumped from the stage into the muddy pit to perform (and also give fans a better chance of reaching their goal) during the set, which reports claim saw a massive improvement in previous live shows. Our photographer claims Bring Me The Horizon have gone from "a metal/hardcore mess to a pretty epic live act." She adds: The addition of a keyboard player has really upped their game."
