Lady Gaga kicked off this year's iTunes Festival last night in London (1 September, 2013) with an eight-song show, with all tracks taken from her upcoming album, ARTPOP.
Gaga kept the promise made on Twitter that her set would consist of only new material, and her performance included the three tracks recently revealed during rehearsals for the show, 'Swine', 'Manicure' and 'Sex Dreams'.
Gaga took to the stage 25 minutes late, dangling above the crowd in a cage as she made her entrance. When performing 'Swine', the star revealed that the track was written about 'risking it all for what I believe in, the human beneath the wig'. The star wore four different wigs during the performance, and underwent a number of slick, on-stage costume changes. The high drama of the show was also added to by confetti and lazers, making the intimate gig seem more of a spectacle.
As she performed new piano ballad 'I Wanna Be With You' the star was seen in tears on the stage, before returning to perform current single, 'Applause'.
