Arctic Monkeys have made chart history with new album AM, becoming the first independent band to hit No.1 with five consecutive albums. Not bad for a band of boys from Sheffield who came to fame in the MySpace days...
AM is the latest in the band's long list of success, with over 100,000 copies being shifted within a few days and being nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in the same week.
Their debut album What People Say I Am I'm Not is still one of the fastest-selling records in British history and they're one of the only UK bands to have every single album reach the No.1 spot. They've played some career-changing shows over the years, won copious amounts of awards and still have another ten years in them, if they so wish. Here's to the Arctic Monkeys!
