They teased fans with the announcement, writing: "Big News Coming Soon..." and later following with "September 16th, the 10 year anniversary of our first show in London... #ShotAtTheNight''.
They later shared a morse code message on their Facebook page, which, when decoded read 'The Killers Shot At The Night.'
'Shot At The Night' is believed to be the band's new single, and a collaboration with French producer M83, and is thought to be the first release from an upcoming hits collection, previously hinted at by the band. See the more code announcement image below.
In a recent interview with Radio.com, guitarist Dave Keuning revealed his hopes to release new Killers music very soon, and hints at an upcoming compilation release.
"I can’t promise a date, but I think we would like to release the song on some level and I don’t know how," Keuning tells the website. "I’m not saying a new album is going to come out or anything like that.
"Sometimes people just put out songs or it gets used for some kind of compilation. We’d like to get a new song out there soon."
