The Liverpool property in which John Lennon spent his childhood years is set to be auctioned this month, and is expected to make over £150,000 from Beatles fans seeking a (huge) piece of rock and roll memorabilia.
The former Beatle lived with his mother at 9 Newcastle Road in Wavertree, Liverpool until he was five-years-old. He spent most of the rest of his childhood and teenage years living elsewhere with aunt and uncle, Mimi and George Smith.
Now, NME reports that the small terraced house on Newcastle Road is due to be auctioned off later this month. The three bedroom property is expected to fetch between £150,000 and £250,000 and is located near Penny Lane - made famous by The Beatles' classic hit. The house is also rumoured to be where Lennon wrote Let It Be's album track ‘One After 909′.
The house's current owner said: "I have made sure original features have been preserved so that they reflect the 1960s period, when the Beatles wowed the whole world with their rock and roll music. The main structure of the house and features, such as the original Victorian sliding sash windows, are as they were when John Lennon lived here with his parents and his grandparents from 1940 onwards."

Regional Sales Director of estate agent Entwistle Green, Stephen Giddins added: "Although the property in need of some modernisation it retains some of the original features that I’m sure a new owner would wish to keep. Taking into consideration the location, the property itself and the background we expect a lot of interest locally and internationally."
The house will go up for auction on 29 October at the iconic Liverpool venue The Cavern Club - where the Beatles first rose to fame and caught the attention of manager George Martin.
