Glastonbury tickets sold out in a record 87 minutes this year, with festival goers taking to Twitter to speak of their joy and frustration at the ticketing process.
General tickets to the famous Somerset festival went on sale at 9am, and as it has become customary every year, the tickets website crashed for many, unable to keep up with the massive demand.
#Glastonbury quickly became one of the biggest trending topics, as many ticket applicants took to the social networking site to share their frustration. "I'd love to know how many times I've refreshed this page," said @LoisPrince. @PJackThoughts said "hitting refresh over and over again for an hour is not refreshing".
Some users were even offering strangers money to buy their tickets in desperation. "Would genuinely give someone £50++ to get mine and my friends #Glastonbury tickets if they get through to booking before me?! Anyone?!" asked @Ohitskatherine.
With over an hour having gone by since the 210,000 tickets were released, more people seemed to be having more success in snagging a ticket to Worthy Farm.
"Got Glastonbury tickets in only 39 minutes this year - it's very frustrating but just keep refreshing and cross fingers guys!" advised @BradyHaran. "I shall be attending #Glastonbury next year!!! Too early for a celebratory beer?" said @andyworldy.
At the time of writing, rumours were circulating that half of the tickets had already been sold.
