US star brings jungle show to SNL

Katy Perry made her long awaited return to Saturday Night Live over the weekend (Oct. 12), performing new tracks from her upcoming album, Prism.
Perry's first performance of the night was predictably a rendition of new single 'Roar' which is her eighth No.1 single to breach the Billboard top 100 and first single from her third studio album. Unlike her VMA performance in which she emulated a boxer, the SNL show saw Katy grace the stage with a leopard print dress more in line with the jungle themed music video.
Next single 'Walking on the Air' was the highlight of the show however, emulating an upbeat eurodance themed 90s track complete with cheesy white outfits and epilepsy inducing strobe lights. Acting in contrast to the rather sombre and safe 'Roar' it demonstrates a broad scope to musical styles that will be seen on the new album.

In the meantime Perry is currently gearing up for her billing at next months EMA's where she will be gracing the stage with none other than Anchorman's Ron Burgundy.
