The Charlatans headlined a charity event for their late drummer, Jon Brookes last night (October 18) as they took to the stage for A Night For John Brookes at London's Royal Albert Hall.
The tribute evening also saw performances from a number of music stars including Tim & Friends which consisted of New Order's Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert, Mumford & Sons' Winston Marshall, The Vaccines' Freddie Cowan and Arni Arnason and The Pretenders' James Walbourn with Tim Burgess laying down vocals.
The star-studded group performed New Order's 'Love Vigilantes', The Vaccines' 'Melody Calling' and Finished with Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'.
Speaking of how Tim & Friends came to be, Burgess told the crowd: "I asked The Vaccines, but the singer was on holiday. I asked New Order, but the singer was on holiday. That wasn't going to stop us, so I said I'd sing."

The evening also saw Manic Street Preachers' James Dean Bradfield perform a three-song acoustic set before Beady Eye minus Gem Archer hit the stage.
Finally, The Charlatans stepped out to play a 12-song set which included tracks such as 'Forever', 'Just Lookin' and 'How High'.
Jon Brookes passed away in August, 2013 aged just 44 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2010.
Speaking of the event, Charlatans bassist said: "The whole evening had to be a celebration. A big send-off, as well as a big thank you to everyone for their support and a chance to raise money for an under-funded charity."
